Pieter de Hooch
1629 Born in Rotterdam, the son of a master bricklayer.
1652 After being apprenticed to Nicolaes Berchem de Hooch is by now working in Delft.
1653 He is noted as a painter and servant in the employment of a linen merchant Justus de la Grange.
1654 Marries Jannetje van der Burch in Rotterdam.
1655 Admitted to the Guild of St Luke in Delft.
1661 Settles in Amsterdam.
1684 At his death he is recorded as an inmate of the insane asylum.
